Service Description

Sewing 3 is for those who have completed Sewing 2 and want to keep growing their skills, or for those who have experience and want guidance and community while learning to follow patterns! For this class, you will purchase and download a pattern online to print. Either print to a copy shop or a home printer. You can cut your size out before class or bring it in pre-cut for sizing guidance. You will also need to purchase your fabric ahead of time. For best results, wash and dry fabric at home prior to the first class. *If printing at home, double check the size range of the pattern that best fits your size, and ensure your printer is set to print at 100% scale. Put together the pattern at home with tape or glue before class. For this round of Sewing 3, we will be making a Chore Coat. You can find the Parker Chore Coat on Seamwork.com. This jacket is unlined with a gender neutral size range. You will learn raglan sleeves and cuffs, a collar stand, a bag box pleat, and several pocket options. We will practice top stitching techniques and instal snaps. FABRIC: This jacket requires a medium to heavy weight fabric, such a s canvas, denim, twill, duck cloth or even a heavy flannel. Always check the size guide online for the amount of fabric for your size range, but estimate close to 3 yards for this pattern. *Sew Fun will have dark and medium wash denim, twill and canvas equivalent for purchase at $14 per yard, if you cannot make it to the fabric store. **NO CLASS on Saturday November 28th
