  • Adult beginning crochet

Our instructor, Carmen, has years and many skeins of experience with crochet and wants to share her passion with you! You will begin learning about the hook size, yarn types, ways to hold the needle, etc. Then you will learn the foundation chain and single and double crochet which are basic stitches to get you started. Carmen will give you light homework and practice yarn to get "a feel for it". As you develop comfort and speed, she will teach terms (sc, sk st, dc, etc.) , how to read a pattern and how to count your stitches to check your accuracy. This is just the beginning! The goal of this four week course is to help you build the confidence to create two styles of granny squares. If you are feeling encouraged and inspired, we already have an intermediate level project planned for the next course of classes if you decide to join us.
