Adult Quilted Jacket Course on Saturdays: October 11, 2025-November 1, 2025
Service Description
Learn the next level of garment sewing with Grace. The Easton jacket features an oversized fit and dropped shoulders with a shawl collar and snap closures on the center front. In addition to learning how to quilt the outer fabric, you’ll learn how to line the jacket and finish the collar and hems with bias binding.
Aside from expanding your skill set with the machine, we offer fun and fellowship! Our community geeks out on all things fabric and creativity!! The best part is the cookie! (If you know, you know)
Fabric:
You will be required to supply your own yardage. You will need 3 yards for the outer, 2 yards for the lining, we will supply the batting!
Selecting fabrics for this jacket is so much fun! For the outer fabric, experiment with chambray, poplin, quilting cotton, denim, twill, and linen. All of those same fabrics work for the inside, and you can also consider shirting and lawn. Go monochromatic with matching shades, pair denim on the outside with a pop of printed lawn on the inside, or experiment with texture or color-blocking when you quilt your fabric.
This jacket requires a few notions you might not necessarily have on hand, like lightweight batting, snaps, and a bias tape maker or bias tape. We will provide those!
